Northern Italian Province Holds Chapter

From March 5-11, 2017, the Italian Province of St. Anthony of Padua celebrates the first part of its Ordinary Chapter in Camposampiero, a town in Italy’s Province of Padua.

Some 70 Capitulars are attending the Chapter. They have come together in an atmosphere of fraternal dialogue to assess the progress of the Province over the last four years.
The Chapter is being presided over by the Minister General, Friar Marco TASCA, and is also being attended by the General Visitator, Friar Joaquín AGESTA, the Assistant General for the Federazione Inter-mediterranea Ministri Provinciali  (FIMP).
On the morning of March 9, the Chapter reached its culmination with the reelection of Minister Provincial Friar Giovanni VOLTAN, to another four-year term. In the afternoon of the same day, the following members of the Provincial Definitory were elected: Friar Roberto BRANDINELLI, Definitor, Vicar Provincial (1st term); Friar Andrea VAONA, Definitor, Provincial Secretary (1st term); Friar Giancarlo CAPITANIO, Definitor (2nd term); Friar Giancarlo ZAMENGO, Definitor (2nd term); Friar Fernando SPIMPOLO, Definitor (1st term); Friar Francesco PANIZZOLO, Definitor (1st term); Friar Antonio RAMINA Definitor (2nd term); and Friar Valerio FOLLI Definitor (2nd term);
During the last days of the first part of this Chapter, the Minister Provincial and his Definitory along with the other Capitulars will continue to make some appointments for the start of the regular life of the Province. They will also begin to identify a working blueprint for the future of the life of the religious Province. After that, the work of the Chapter will be suspended until the second part resumes in late June or early July of 2017.
