Vatican: New Penitentiary Guardian

On May 19, 2017, Minister General Marco TASCA and his Definitory appointed a new guardian for the Friary of St. Peter in the Vatican—also known as the Community of the Apostolic College of Minor Penitentiaries. The new guardian is Friar Lucjan BOGUCKI, a friar of the Provincial Custody of the Immaculate Conception of the B.V.M. in Slovakia.

On May 28, 2017, Friar Lucjan will assume the office previously held by Friar Rocco RIZZO, a friar of the Province of Our Seraphic Father St. Francis in Naples, Italy. Friar Rocco served as guardian for two consecutive four-year terms.
Friar Lucjan BOGUCKI was born in Piwniczna, Poland, on January 2, 1966. He professed his temporary vows on September 25, 1985, his solemn vows on December 8, 1989, and was ordained a priest on June 22, 1991.
The friars of the General Curia and the Penitentiary Community extend their heartfelt thanks to Friar Rocco for his service over the last eight years and they offer Friar Lucjan their fraternal congratulations.
