On October 26, 2019, the novice friars of the three Franciscan Families met at the St. Francis Friary in Arroyo Grande, California, USA, for a Day of Prayer preached by Friar Jude WINKLER on the Gospel of Matthew.
All three national novitiates are located in southern California (the Friars Minor are in Santa Barbara and the Capuchins are in St. Inez) and they often share formation experiences among themselves.
Prior to the Day of Prayer, on October 21-24, Friar Jude conducted a workshop for the novices on the Gospels and the Psalms. The Conventual Franciscan Federation (CFF) currently has five novices: three from the Province of Our Lady of Consolation in the USA, one from the Province of St. Bonaventure in the USA and one from the Province of Our Lady of the Angels in the USA.
