On April 26, 2023, the third spiritual retreat day of the year was held for members of the General Custody of the Sacred Convent of St. Francis in Italy (Assisi). The event took place at the Sacred Convent.
The day began with a meditation led by Friar Giulio CESAREO on the passage from Mark 10:35-45, in which the sons of Zebedee ask Jesus that when He is in His kingdom, they may sit one on His right and the other on His left.
The retreat day and the presentation of the Gospel passage were accompanied by certain questions: Why is it difficult to follow Jesus and abide in Him? What is the mindset that Jesus proposes? The mindset Jesus proposes, the mindset necessary to follow him and abide in him, is that of service and self-giving.
At the end of the day, according to the synodal method, the participants divided into small groups to discuss the questions that had been posed.
