On Saturday, February 15, 2020, the Provincial Custody of St. Bonaventure in Brazil joyfully celebrated the simple profession of Friar Herivelton LEITE PEREIRA JÚNIOR. The ceremony took place at the Menino Jesus de Praga formation house in Cohama, São Luís, Maranhão State, Brazil.
The celebration was presided over by the Provincial Custos, Friar Clevis MAFRA DOS SANTOS. The confreres who concelebrated were Friars Francisco SALES ARAÚJO, Roberto Honorato OLIVEIRA DOS REMÉDIOS, Alessandro RODRIGUES DA SILVA, Valdir DA SILVA LOPES, Wilton ALVES ROCHA, Romário AVELINO DA SILVA and Mario GUIDI.
At the same celebration, the 2020 postulancy year officially got underway as thirteen young postulants and four pre-postulants were admitted into the program. At the end of the celebration, the Custos also “called and sent forth” three pre-novices who will begin their canonical novitiate year.
On Monday, February 17, 2020, the novitiate year of the Union of Conventual Franciscans of Brazil (UCOB) was inaugurated at the Santo Antônio formation house in Cascavel, Paranà State, Brazil.
The friars of the Custody thank God for his abundant blessings and ask Mary Most Holy, the Queen of our Order, to intercede for each of her sons, so that these young vocations might faithfully follow our Lord Jesus Christ in the footsteps of our Seraphic Father Francis.
