On January 20, 2019, at 6:00 p.m., during the celebration of a solemn community Mass, fourteen young men were accepted into the postulancy program of the Provincial Custody of St. Bonaventure in Brazil.

The celebration was presided over by the Custos, Friar Clevis MAFRA DOS SANTOS. Those concelebrating included the Rector of the postulancy program, Friar Roberto Honorato REMÉDIOS and the Rector of the “Menino Jesus de Praga” [Child Jesus of Prague] Parish-Shrine in São Luís, Friar Raimundo NOGUEIRA VALDO, with the participation of the faithful of the community.

It was a time of great joy and enthusiasm in the lives of these young men. They are eager to walk the vocational path of the formation process with open hearts. Let us pray that these young men may daily discover, like Francis, the merciful love of God in their lives. “The Lord gave me…to begin to do penance.” After the experiences of his youth searching for success, power, money, and other material things, St. Francis was enlightened by the Spirit to discover the mystery of God’s love (Franciscan Discipleship no. 8).
