From September 3 to November 24, 2018, the course for new English-speaking missionaries was held in Brussels, Belgium.
The course was attended by eight friars, members of the OFM, OFM Capuchin and OFM Conventual. The friars came from various countries around the world: India, Italy, the Philippines and Zambia.
On November 20-24, as the course was concluding, the friars made pilgrimages to Rome, Italy, and to the Franciscan sites of the Rieti Valley and Assisi.
On November 20, they were hosted by our fraternity of St. Maximilian Kolbe in Rome and spent some fraternal time at the friary of the Twelve Holy Apostles (the OFM Conv. General Curia).
During their stay in Assisi, they were hosted by the Franciscanum post-novitiate fraternity.
They visited a number of Franciscan sites such as Greccio, Fonte Colombo, La Foresta, the Porziuncola, the Sacred Convent, the Church of San Damiano and the Basilica of Saint Clare, where they experienced sharing, joy, and Franciscan hospitality.
We wish our missionary friars worthy and meaningful missionary ventures as they proclaim God’s love, provide words of comfort and hope, and offer concrete help to the poor and marginalized around the world.
