On Monday, February 7, 2022, the Vicar General, Friar Jan MACIEJOWSKI, and the General Delegate for Mission Animation, Friar Dariusz MAZUREK, met with the postulants residing at the St. Anthony of Padua Friary in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, a presence of the Provincial Delegation in Burkina Faso. The Rector of the postulancy program, Friar Giacomo DI CIANO, was also present and served as a French translator.

There is currently a large group of postulants in Ouagadougou. They represent different countries: Three of the postulants come from Benin, one is from Mali, another is from Togo and nine are from Burkina Faso.
During the meeting, Friar Jan gave the postulants a presentation on the structure of the Order and described the various services that the friars perform within the General Curia. He also explained different programs of study and stages of formation. Friar Dariusz, for his part, spoke about the importance of the missionary vocation and the challenges it entails.
The meeting began with the celebration of the Eucharist. The Mass was the meeting’s crowning moment. The liturgy included beautiful songs in French, which created a very joyful and spiritual atmosphere that lasted throughout the day.
