Many Franciscans around the world are gathering in Belém, Brazil, to participate in the United Nations Climate Conference (COP30). The event is being held November 10–21, 2025. It is an important opportunity for the entire Franciscan family to be able to actively engage in the protection of our common home.

Even those who are not physically present in Belém can participate in various ways.

They can follow Franciscans International’s social media accounts and help spread the message by sharing the appeals and updates coming from the Franciscan delegation that is attending the conference:

For those who wish to receive frequent updates, a dedicated WhatsApp group has also been created at:

Among the online initiatives are the Franciscan Climate Talks. These are live meetings with the Franciscan delegation in Belém. The talks are scheduled for Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. (New York) / 4:00 p.m. (Geneva), and will feature an open dialogue session with time for questions and answers, so that participants can share experiences and reflections directly with COP30.

Also on November 13, the Franciscans of Brazil will organize a parallel event to the conference. Further details will be shared soon.

Finally, on Saturday, November 15, climate marches will be held around the world. Those participating in their own countries are invited to tag Franciscans International in their photos and add the hashtag #FranciscansUnitedforClimateAction. The photos will be reposted on official channels.

This event is an invitation to gather from every corner of the planet and march together to protect the beauty and life of our common home.
