On February 2-7, 2020, Friar Dominique MATHIEU, the Assistant General for the Centralis Europae Foederatio (CEF) made a canonical visitation to the presence of the friars of Romania in Germany.

Friar Gabriel BUDĂU, delegated by Friar Teofil PETRIȘOR, the Minister Provincial of the Province of St. Joseph, Spouse of the B.V.M. in Romania, accompanied the Assistant General on his travels.
On February 2, they first visited Chieming, Germany, where the friars from Grabenstätt were gathered. In the afternoon, they visited the friaries and churches of Chieming, Grabenstätt and Bergen.
The next day, the friars gathered for a Fraternal Chapter in Chieming. The conversation was centered on the arrival of the friars from Romania in Germany, the events that took place during their first decade here, the services they carried out and the challenges they will face in the future. In the afternoon, the Assistant General met with individual friars. After the personal interviews, the friars celebrated Mass for the feast of St. Blaise in the friary chapel.
Following the schedule of the Chieming fraternity, the Visitator spent the morning of Tuesday February 4, checking the books of the friary administration. Next, the friars joyfully celebrated the birthday of a confrere. In the afternoon, they visited the storm-tossed Lake Chiemsee.
On Wednesday, February 5, there was heavy snowfall. That day, the Visitator met with four Romanian students in Würzburg. Two of the students are priests preparing to take the German language exam in order to join the parishes of Chieming and Grabenstätt. The other two are clerical students preparing for solemn profession in view of their possibly being assigned to Germany.
After the recent Ordinary Chapter of the Province of St. Elizabeth in Germany, the Visitator had a meeting in Würzburg with the new Guardian, Friar Adam KALINOWSKI, and the Rector of the post-novices, Friar Josef FISCHER.
On Thursday, the Assistant General arrived in Cologne, where another friar from Romania resides within the local Conventual fraternity. The Visitator attended Midday Prayer at the Minoritenkirche, the church which contains the tombs of our blessed confreres, John Duns SCOTUS and Adolph KOLPING.
On Friday, February 7, the Assistant General went to London to make a courtesy visit to Friar Ciprian BUDĂU, the Provincial Custos of the Provincial Custody of Blessed Agnellus of Pisa in Great Britain-Ireland. The Assistant General went on to Oxford where he spent some fraternal time with the members of the formation house there.
The Assistant General returned to London the next day and met informally with the friars of the international community and with Friar Wayne HELLMANN, the Minister Provincial of the Province of Our Lady of Consolation in the USA (OLC), who also happened to be there.
