From March 1-5, the friars of the Provincial Custody of St. Anthony of Padua in Ghana gathered at the retreat facility in Saltpond to celebrate their annual retreat.

Sixteen friars were able to gather together in spite of Covid concerns. The retreatants were conscious of wearing masks and keeping socially distanced throughout the retreat. Friar Jude WINKLER preached, basing his conferences upon the Six-Year Plan of the Order, including the priorities of building fraternity inside and outside the friary, participating in continuing formation, and the importance of the various commemorations to be held during these years (the Rules of 1221 and 1223, Greccio and the Nearness of God, La Verna and the Meaning of Suffering, the Canticle of the Creatures and Respect for Creation).
During the retreat, the friars also celebrated the 80th birthday of Friar Giuseppe CONTESSI who has served in Ghana for over twenty years.
