On January 25, 2018, Friar Yohanes TANDO was ordained a deacon through the imposition of the hands of the Most Reverend Anicetus B. SINAGA, OFM Cap., Archbishop of Medan.
Three other clerical students were ordained along with Friar Yohanes; two from the Archdiocese of Medan and one from Vietnam.
The ordination was celebrated in the chapel of the “Christus Sacerdos” minor diocesan seminary in Pematangsiantar, Indonesia.
Friar Yohanes TANDO is a member of the Provincial Custody of the Immaculate Conception of the B.V.M. in Indonesia. He is a native of Tanah Toraja, on the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. He professed his solemn vows on April 22, 2017. He is currently living in community at the Santa Catarina friary in Tigajuhar and serves as the Assistant Postulant Director.
