From July 29 to August 24, 2024, a summer retreat for children and youth was conducted at the friary in Niepokalanów Lasek, Poland, a presence of the Province of the Immaculate Mother of God in Poland (Warsaw). The theme of the retreat was: “What Is Truth?”
The retreat was offered in three shifts; two for children and one for youth. About three hundred young people participated.
Friar Grzegorz M. ŚWIERKOSZ led the retreat, assisted by Friar Grzegorz M. SZYMANIK. There were also a number of lay leaders who guided the participants.
The retreat was a time for discovering the truth about the world and the Creator, the one God, Jesus, and about mankind and the purpose of humanity.
The retreat was also a time for praying together during Mass. The evenings were cheerful and fraternal and there was free time during the day as well. There was also a trip to Majaland [an amusement park] and some time spent canoeing.
Football and volleyball matches offered a guaranteed fun time, letting everyone show off their sports skills.
The retreat ended with a Mass at which the parents also attended. Everyone left happy and looking forward to meeting again at Niepokalanów Lasek.
