On April 24-26, 2026, a retreat for children was held at the friary in Niepokalanów Lasek, a presence of the Province of the Immaculate Mother of God in Poland (Warsaw). The event was attended by eighty-nine children, ages seven to thirteen. The retreat was led by Friar Grzegorz Maria ŚWIERKOSZ, OFM Conv., along with a group of animators. The main theme of the gathering was “Vocation.”
The program included a film marathon during which two movies were screened, Moana and Inside Out 2, both related to the theme of vocation and the difficulties associated with it. This was followed by an outdoor game that allowed the participants to explore different life vocations. The game involved capturing several “castles”: at each of the four stations, challenges were presented that illustrated the specific trials of a particular state of life.
At the end of the activity, there was a discussion session during which the children debated which state of life would be most suitable for setting out to colonize a new planet. The experience generated strong emotional engagement, and the participants defended their ideas with conviction.
The retreat took place in a serene and joyful atmosphere. The children left Niepokalanów Lasek happy and eager to participate in another retreat, this time during the summer vacation.
