On January 18-20, 2022, the Provincial Custody of Our Lady of Coromoto in Venezuela conducted a series of ongoing formation meetings at the Custodial curia in Guanare, Venezuela.
The first meeting was for Friary Economs and was led by the Custodial Econom, Friar Deiby A. VERGARA PALENCIA. The purpose of the meeting was to review the accounting books of the friaries and the self-evaluations made by each Econom regarding his service. Then, the Custodial Delegate for Youth and Vocation Promotion, Friar Juan G. MARTÍNEZ CANELÓN, led a meeting on vocation ministry. The purpose of the meeting was to evaluate the work done in vocation ministry during the last four years, plan for future activities, present the candidates who will be receiving vocational guidance during 2022, and to work with the initial formation team of the Custody in preparation for the next vocation meeting scheduled for March 25, 2022. Finally, there was a meeting for Friary Secretaries led by Friar Juan G. MARTÍNEZ CANELÓN. The purpose of the meeting was to give the Secretaries tools they will need to carry out their office and teach them how to organize or create the friary archive.
On January 22, 2022, Friars Deiby Johan MEDINA GUERRERO and Cristian David TERÁN GAMBOA made their simple profession of vows at the Santíssima Trinidad Friary in Pueblo Llano, Venezuela. The celebration was presided over by the Provincial Custos, Friar Franklin A. DURÁN ZAMBRANO. Friar Franklin urged the friars to live out their consecration by being disciples of Christ, continuously seeking the will of God. God invites them to respond freely to his call and to fulfil it. Others attending the celebration included friars from the friaries of Palmira, Guanare, Barinas and Mérida, in Venezuela; the families of the newly professed; and parishioners from the churches served by the friars of the Custody.
