From January 28 to February 8, 2018, Friar Benedict BAEK, the Assistant General for the Federation of Asian Minors Conventual (FAMC); and Friar Jude WINKLER, the Assistant General for the Conventual Franciscan Federation (CFF), conducted a general canonical visitation of the Delegation of Vietnam in preparation for the Ordinary Provincial Chapter of its Mother Province, St. Joseph of Cupertino in California, USA.

The Delegation currently has eighteen friars in solemn profession (two of whom are studying in Rome and another who is working at the novitiate in Tagaytay, the Philippines). Two of these friars are from the Mother Province, while a friar from Australia (which founded the mission), Friar Joseph TROUNG, recently returned to his Delegation.
There are sixteen friars in temporary profession in Vietnam, and three novices in Tagaytay.
There are currently two friaries in the Delegation, both in the area around Ho Chi Minh City, and a filial house in Van Mon in the north of the country.
The Delegation now has four local ordained friars and one religious brother in solemn vows. There are a number of friars who will be ordained in the next few years, and the delegation is at a turning point, passing from a stage where its primary apostolate was the formation of new vocations to finding an outreach for those who are ready for other apostolates.
