Both of them will accompany the novices throughout this important period of formation.<br \/>\nThis year\u2019s novice class consists of Friar Alfredo RODR\u00cdGUEZ DEMETRIO, 21, of the Province of Our Lady of Monserrat in Spain; Friar David MLIKOTA, 27, of the Province of St. Jerome in Croatia; Friar Gaetano Emmanuele SCARPELLO, 25, of the Italian Province of the Immaculate Conception (Sicily-Calabria); Friar Luis Yaniel D\u00cdAZ VILLARREAL, 36, of the Provincial Delegation in Cuba, of the Italian Province of St. Francis of Assisi (Central Italy); Friar Paolo Deqin LI, 24, of the General Custody of the Sacred Convent of St. Francis in Italy (Assisi); and Friar Sergio TANGARI, 53, of the Italian Province of St. Joseph of Cupertino (Abruzzo-Molise-Puglia).<br \/>\nFor these six novices, this marks the start of a special period devoted to formation, prayer, and discernment, during which they will be able to deepen their vocation and experience Franciscan life more fully.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Friar Silvano BIANCO, Custodial Secretary<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On September 8, 2026, the 2026\u20132027 novitiate year officially began with the rite of welcome and vesting for six young men who have asked to receive the habit of probation and embark on a journey of formation and vocational discernment.
