Commission for the Prevention of Abuse and officials from the Dicastery for the Laity, the Family and Life. They assessed progress in implementing the Guidelines for the Prevention of Abuse, which were approved in July 2025 and presented during the M.I. The exhibition has been on display at Casa Kolbe since 2010. Friar Simone, who conceived the exhibition, explained its design and creation and then guided the participants through it. The exhibition is dedicated to the life and witness of the Saint. The meeting also served as a training opportunity for future guides and allowed participants to explore the spiritual legacy of the founder of the M.I. in light of contemporary challenges.
From Friday, October 16, through the morning of Saturday, October 17, the International Executive Council met to examine various issues concerning the life, organization, and mission of the M.I. and to make decisions for 2027.
Among these was the decision to organize an international M.I. pilgrimage to Medjugorje from April 22 to 25, 2027. The Council also approved the proposal to amend the General Statutes, drafted by the Legal Commission, in preparation for an Extraordinary General Assembly scheduled for August 16 and 17, 2027. Before being presented to the national centers of the M.I., the document will undergo a preliminary review by the General Definitory of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual and the Dicastery for the Laity, the Family and Life. The day concluded with a fraternal agape meal hosted by the Kolbe Hotel.
On Sunday, October 18, representatives of the International M.I. Center joined Pope Leo XIV in praying the Angelus in St. Peter’s Square. The occasion held special significance because it marked the Pope’s first public appearance after his discharge from Gemelli University Hospital, where he had undergone surgery on October 13. The M.I. representatives thus expressed their solidarity with the Holy Father during his recovery and joined the Church in praying for him.
The four-day gathering in Rome reaffirmed the commitment of the M.I. International Presidency Council to serving the life and mission of the M.I.
