{"id":12281,"date":"2018-12-04T12:49:21","date_gmt":"2018-12-04T11:49:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofmconv.net\/lodz-lagiewniki-due-giubilei-2\/"},"modified":"2018-12-04T12:54:44","modified_gmt":"2018-12-04T11:54:44","slug":"lodz-lagiewniki-due-giubilei-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ofmconv.net\/en\/lodz-lagiewniki-due-giubilei-2\/","title":{"rendered":"\u0141\u00f3d\u017a-\u0141agiewniki: Two Jubilees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On December 1, 2018, a symposium was held at the Conventual Franciscan Major Seminary in Lodz-\u0141agiewniki, Poland, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the return of the Friars Minor Conventual to this Antonian shrine after having been suppressed by the Russian Empire in 1864. The symposium also commemorated the 40th anniversary of the major seminary\u2019s inauguration.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The symposium was divided into two parts. The first part was comprised of history lectures. Friar Roland PREJS, OFM Cap., spoke on \u201cThe Franciscan Orders in Poland after World War I and Their Development in the Following Years.\u201d Friar Rafa\u0142 KWIATKOWSKI, OFM Conv., presented \u201cThe Return of the Franciscans to \u0141agiewniki in 1918\u201d and Friar Paulin SOTOWSKI, OFM Conv., lectured on \u201cThe Activities of the Franciscan Major Seminary in \u0141agiewniki\u201d.<br \/>\nThis first part ended with Mass celebrated in the Shrine of St. Anthony of Padua and Blessed Rafa\u0142 CHYLI\u0143SKI. It was presided over by the Most Reverend W\u0142adys\u0142aw ZI\u00d3\u0141EK, Archbishop Emeritus of \u0141\u00f3d\u017a, Poland. The homily was given by Friar Wies\u0142aw PYZIO, the Minister Provincial of the Province of the Immaculate Mother of God in Poland (Warsaw). Other participants included Friar Jacek CIUPI\u0143SKI, the Assistant General for the <em>Federatio Europae Mediae et Orientalis<\/em> (FEMO); Friar Tomasz RY\u0141KO, the Vicar Provincial of the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in Poland (Gda\u0144sk); together with professors from the Seminary; friars from the friaries in L\u00f3dz; priests from the diocese; and a large group of Secular Franciscans.<br \/>\nThe second part took place after lunch and was dedicated to the commemoration of various people connected with the shrine and the seminary in recent years.
