{"id":16244,"date":"2019-06-27T17:15:05","date_gmt":"2019-06-27T15:15:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofmconv.net\/brasile-eremo-francescano\/"},"modified":"2019-06-27T17:16:44","modified_gmt":"2019-06-27T15:16:44","slug":"brasile-eremo-francescano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ofmconv.net\/en\/brasile-eremo-francescano\/","title":{"rendered":"Brazil: Franciscan Hermitage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On June 20-23, 2019, the fourth edition of Brazil\u2019s &#8220;Youth towards Assisi\u201d meeting took place in Ca\u00e7apava, Brazil.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The participants included seven friars, two candidates and fifty young people, mostly from our communities in Ca\u00e7apava, S\u00e3o Bernardo do Campo, Santo Andr\u00e9, Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro and other Brazilian parishes.<br \/>\nThe theme of the meeting was the \u201cFranciscan Hermitage\u201d. It was based on St. Francis\u2019 \u201cRule for Hermitages\u201d and on the experiences of the early friars, as described in the Franciscan sources. During the event, the young people divided into small fraternities in order to create a hermitage experience, where they led lives of work and prayer as proposed by the aforementioned Rule.<br \/>\nWhat attracted the most attention was the dynamics of fraternity during kitchen duties. Friar Jean Vieira SOUZA directed the young people and guided them in reflections, service, etc.<br \/>\nEach fraternity chose its own way of serving the brothers and offered special moments during meals.
