{"id":18597,"date":"2019-09-30T15:25:54","date_gmt":"2019-09-30T13:25:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofmconv.net\/lituania-visita-fraterna\/"},"modified":"2019-09-30T15:32:30","modified_gmt":"2019-09-30T13:32:30","slug":"lituania-visita-fraterna","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ofmconv.net\/en\/lituania-visita-fraterna\/","title":{"rendered":"Lithuania: Fraternal Visit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On September 15, 2019, the friars of the Friary of the Assumption of the B.V.M. in Vilnius, Lithuania, celebrated the consecration of an altar and the enshrinement of the relics of Blessed Michael GIEDROY\u0106 (Augustinian) in our church in the Lithuanian capital.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Blessed Michael, although he belonged to a different spirituality, was certainly a fine example of holiness with Franciscan traits.<br \/>\nThe next day, a new book by our confrere Friar J\u00f3zef MAKARCZYK, was presented in the friary\u2019s historic refectory. The book deals with the events regarding the presence of our Order in the ancient &#8220;Rus&#8221;, summarizing the history of the Franciscan mission in the territories of today&#8217;s Ukraine and south-eastern Poland.<br \/>\nThose participating in the celebrations included the Vicar General of the Order, Friar Jan MACIEJOWSKI and the Assistant General for the <em>Foederatio Europae Mediae et Orientalis<\/em> (FEMO), Friar Tom\u00e1\u0161 LES\u0147\u00c1K. Friar Tom\u00e1\u0161 later visited the Order\u2019s other presences in Klaip\u0117da and Medininkai, Lithuania. There are nine friars in the Provincial Delegation of St. Casimir in Lithuania, of the Province of St. Maximilian M.
