They were Friars John Baptist H\u01b0\u1edbng V\u0103n TR\u1ea6N; Joseph Ph\u1ea1m Vi\u1ebft Ho\u00e0ng L\u00ca; and Joseph V\u1ee7 Minh \u0110O\u00c0N.<br \/>\nIn addition, nine novices made their simple profession. They were Friars Joseph C\u01b0\u1eddng H\u00f9ng NGUY\u1ec4N; Dominic Luy\u1ec7n \u0110\u00ecnh V\u0168; Joseph Clara \u00c2n V\u0103n PH\u1ea0M; Joseph \u0110\u1ee9c Minh V\u0168; Joseph To\u1ea3n Kh\u1eafc NGUY\u1ec4N; Joseph V\u01b0\u01a1ng Quang L\u00d4; Peter V\u1ecbnh V\u0103n B\u00d9I; John Baptist T\u00e2n Minh NGUY\u1ec4N; and Joseph Th\u00e0nh Ho\u00e0ng \u0110\u1ee8C.<br \/>\nThe professions took place during Mass at the St Anthony Friary in H\u1ed3 Ch\u00ed Minh City, Vietnam. Friar Anthony M. D\u01b0\u01a1ng S\u1ef9 L\u00ca presided. He had been delegated to accept the vows of the friars on behalf of Friar Victor ABEGG, the Minister Provincial of the Mother Province of St. Joseph of Cupertino in the USA. Participation at the Mass of Profession was limited due to restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p><em>Renewal of Vows<\/em><br \/>\nAt 5:30 p.m. the same day, four friars renewed their simple vows. They were Friars Jerome H\u1ecdc Th\u00e1i V\u0168; Joseph \u0110\u1ee9c V\u0103n TR\u1ea6N; Joseph Huynh \u0110\u1ee9c V\u0168; and Joseph Huy Qu\u1ed1c NGUY\u1ec4N. Friar Anthony M. D\u01b0\u01a1ng S\u1ef9 L\u00ca again presided over the ceremony, which took place at the St. Anthony Friary. Friar Anthony exhorted the friars to persevere on the path of formation and discipleship towards their definitive consecration to God.
