{"id":48023,"date":"2022-09-06T19:13:06","date_gmt":"2022-09-06T17:13:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofmconv.net\/cile-professione-solenne\/"},"modified":"2022-09-06T19:14:22","modified_gmt":"2022-09-06T17:14:22","slug":"cile-professione-solenne","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ofmconv.net\/en\/cile-professione-solenne\/","title":{"rendered":"Chile: Solemn Profession"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On September 3, 2022, Friar Augusto Esteban URZ\u00daA GONZ\u00c1LES professed his solemn vows as a Conventual Franciscan friar into the hands of the Vicar Provincial of the Italian Province of St. Anthony of Padua (Northern Italy), Friar Gilberto DEPEDER.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>The ceremony took place at the end of the Delegation&#8217;s formation week, at the Jes\u00fas de Nazareth Church in Curic\u00f3, Chile.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Friar Augusto is the first native friar from Chile to profess perpetual vows. He was born in Curic\u00f3 on June 16, 1995, the year the friars first arrived in Chile. In 2015, he entered the Order as a postulant. After two years of postulancy, he was sent to Medell\u00edn, Colombia, where he undertook his novitiate year with other young men from Latin America. On January 13, 2018, he professed his simple vows and was then sent to Italy to continue his philosophy and theology studies along with several young friars from different countries.<br \/>\nThis solemn profession was a time of great excitement and joy for the friars of the Delegation in Chile. After twenty-seven years of presence in Chile, the Lord finally gave them their first native friar.<br \/>\nThe ceremony was attended by many people from the Delegation\u2019s communities in Santiago and Curic\u00f3, as well as the friends and relatives of Friar Augusto. In his homily, the Provincial Delegate, Friar Tullio PASTORELLI, thanked the Lord for this gift.
