Province of St. Francis in Brazil (S\u00e3o Paulo) 
\n<\/strong>Mother Province: Italian Province of St. Anthony of Padua (Northern Italy) <\/p>\n

On January 5, 1949, Friars Vittorio VALENTINI and Marino TEMPORIN, from the Basilica of St. Anthony in Padua, arrived at the Senhor do Bonfim<\/em> Parish Church, located on the outskirts of the city of Santo Andr\u00e9, State of S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil.
\nIn the years to follow, after the Conventual Franciscan presence was consolidated in South America\u2019s largest country, the former Province of Padua first recognized this presence as a \u201cMissionary Delegation.\u201d Later, during the Provincial Chapter of 1955, it became the \u201cCommissariat for Latin America,\u201d together with Argentina and Uruguay. In 1970, the region was made a Provincial Custody. On September 23, 1991, it was erected as the Province of St. Francis in Brazil (S\u00e3o Paulo).
\nToday, the Jurisdiction has forty-two solemnly professed friars, four simply professed friars and eleven friaries. The friars usually provide pastoral services and run various social and charitable works.<\/p>\n

Cascavel: Santo Ant\u00f4nio Friary
\n<\/em><\/strong>This friary was erected in 1981. It is a formation house for post-novices.<\/p>\n

Curitiba: S\u00e3o Francisco de Assis Friary
\n<\/em><\/strong>This friary was erected in 1969. It is a seminary for adult vocations.<\/p>\n

Guaraniac\u0327u\u0301: Nossa Senhora de F\u00e1tima Friary and Parish
\n<\/em><\/strong>This friary was erected in 1978.<\/p>\n

Mogi das Cruzes: S\u00e3o Maximiliano M. Kolbe Friary and Parish
\n<\/em><\/strong>This friary was erected in 1972.<\/p>\n

Santa Barbara d\u2019Oreste: S\u00e3o Francisco de Assis Friary and Parish
\n<\/em><\/strong>This friary was erected in 2012.<\/p>\n

Santo Andre\u0301: Maria Imaculada Friary, Nossa Senhora Aparecida Parish and Santa Gemma Galgani Parish
\n<\/em><\/strong>This friary was erected in 1965. The friars here publish a Portuguese language edition of the Messenger of St. Anthony. They manage the Frei Paulo OBLACK<\/em> Vocations Center and run the Cidade Dos Meninos<\/em> [City of Children] – Maria Imaculada Charitable Institution<\/em><\/p>\n

Santo Andre\u0301: Senhor do Bonfim Friary and Parish
\n<\/em><\/strong>This friary was erected in 1949. It is the first friary of the Province. It is the seat of the Provincial Curia and the theological seminary for post-novices.<\/p>\n

Sa\u0303o Bernardo do Campo: S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 de Copertino Friary
\n<\/em><\/strong>This friary was erected in 2003. It is a flourishing center of the Militia of the Immaculata.<\/p>\n

Ubatuba: Exalta\u00e7\u00e3o da Santa Cruz Friary and Parish
\n<\/em><\/strong>This friary was erected in 1967.<\/p>\n

Cura\u00e7\u00e1 Bahia: S\u00e3o Boaventura Friary and Bom Jesus da Boa Morte e S\u00e3o Benedito Parish
\n<\/em><\/strong>This friary was erected in 2022.<\/p>\n
