{"id":65717,"date":"2024-03-27T13:34:07","date_gmt":"2024-03-27T12:34:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofmconv.net\/festa-del-mistero-della-creazione\/"},"modified":"2024-03-27T13:36:27","modified_gmt":"2024-03-27T12:36:27","slug":"festa-del-mistero-della-creazione","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ofmconv.net\/en\/festa-del-mistero-della-creazione\/","title":{"rendered":"Feast of the Mystery of Creation?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On March 14-17, 2024, Friars Michael LASKY and Francesco SCIALPI participated in a seminar in Assisi entitled \u201cThe Feast of Creation and the Mystery of Creation: Ecumenism, Theology, Liturgy, and the Signs of the Times in Dialogue.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In recent decades, the \u201cFeast of Creation\u201d celebrated on September 1 (also known as Creation Day or World Day of Prayer for Creation) has emerged as an important Christian celebration of Creation. Originally inspired by an ancient tradition of the Orthodox Church, nearly all major denominations now take part in the annual observance through countless ecumenical initiatives and prayers, celebrating God as Creator and the great mystery of the creation of the cosmos. The seminar explored the ecumenical journey of the way this feast has been celebrated until now, and it considered a proposal to \u201cupgrade\u201d the feast from its current \u201cWorld Day of Prayer\u201d status, by jointly instituting it as an official liturgical feast in the calendars of Western Churches.<br \/>\nThe seminar\u2019s numerous panelists\u2015experts in theology and liturgy\u2015included His Eminence Cardinal Victor Manuel FERN\u00c1NDEZ, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, and the Most Reverend Rowan WILLIAMS, Archbishop Emeritus of Canterbury, England [Anglican].
