{"id":82234,"date":"2025-05-30T13:38:54","date_gmt":"2025-05-30T11:38:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ofmconv.net\/brasile-incontro-intergiurisdizionale-dei-parroci-francescani\/"},"modified":"2025-05-30T13:40:49","modified_gmt":"2025-05-30T11:40:49","slug":"brasile-incontro-intergiurisdizionale-dei-parroci-francescani","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ofmconv.net\/en\/brasile-incontro-intergiurisdizionale-dei-parroci-francescani\/","title":{"rendered":"Brazil: Interjurisdictional Meeting of Conventual Franciscan Pastors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On May 20-23, 2025, the Province of St. Francis of Assisi and the Provincial Custody of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Brazil jointly hosted a fraternal and pastoral meeting for their friars in charge of parish ministry. The meeting took place at the Ema\u00fas Retreat Center, adjacent to the S\u00e3o Bento Benedictine Monastery in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This event was part of the itinerary and calendar of preparation for the two Jurisdictions as they move toward revision and unification. Eight of the eleven pastors of the Province of St. Francis and five of the Custody of the Immaculate Conception were present. The Provincial Custos, Friar Carlos Roberto de Oliveira CHARLES, was the moderator of the meeting. He alternated between engaging in continuing formation and sharing pastoral experiences with an eye to the future.<br \/>\nThe Carmelite Friar Vagner SANAGIOTTO lectured on \u201cburnout syndrome\u201d in consecrated life. Friar Gustavo MEDELA, the Vicar Provincial of the Friars Minor Province of the Immaculate Conception in Brazil, spoke about Franciscan pastoral care and the criteria for managing or discontinuing pastoral presences. Father Anselmo CHAGAS DE PAIVA, a member of the aforementioned Benedictine monastery, led a discussion on pastoral and canonical issues concerning problems in today\u2019s family and how these involve the friars\u2019 apostolate.<br \/>\nThe meeting was very fraternal and participatory. It marked an important step along the path these two Jurisdictions in Brazil are following during this period of preparation. Special thanks to all the participants who left their cities and parishes to participate in this fraternal event with such generosity and determination.
