The community of the Sacred Convent has been invited to contribute a message about St. Francis of Assisi.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Expo began on April 13, 2025 and continues until October 13, 2025. It is being held on the man-made island of Yumeshima, and is dedicated to building the society of the future. It promotes innovation, sustainability, health, and technology as tools for addressing major global challenges. On the morning of August 31, Friar Giulio CESAREO spoke at the Italian Pavilion of the Expo, on behalf of the friars of Umbria and Friar Marco MORONI, the Custos of the General Custody of the Sacred Convent of St. Francis in Italy (Assisi).<br \/>\nHis lecture, <em>\u201cFrancis of Assisi: A Timeless Inspiration for the Human Family,\u201d<\/em> emphasized Francis\u2019 unique contribution to the world, which is recognized and appreciated far beyond Italian and Catholic boundaries. The West has often approached matters through domination. Francis, on the other hand, offered a transcultural and interreligious message centered on fraternity, lived in a \u201cminor\u201d style. He encouraged the renunciation of violence, the rejection of any abuse of power, unconditional acceptance, and humble service focused on the needs of others.<br \/>\nPlacing this reflection in the context of the upcoming 800<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of the death of St. Francis (1226-2026), Friar Giulio highlighted how Francis remains surprisingly relevant today. He is a bridge between the East and the West, between cultures and social classes, and a source of universal inspiration.
