Kolbe in Tanzania has proposed <strong>Developing<\/strong> <strong>Self-Sustainability<\/strong> <strong>Project No. 10\/2026<\/strong> entitled <em>\u201cConstruction of a Masonry Fence at Maseyu Farm,\u201d<\/em> aimed at the protection of agricultural land located in Segerea, in the Diocese of Dar-es-Salaam, through the construction of a stable and adequate fence [wall].<\/p>\n<p>This project stems from the real need to safeguard the land of Maseyu Farm, where the friars have initiated agricultural activities to support the formation of postulants and the daily life of the Custody. Currently, the land is exposed to the intrusion of animals, particularly cows and goats from local nomadic communities, which use the area for grazing, causing significant damage to crops and cultivated fields.<br \/>\nTo address this situation, the construction of a masonry fence [wall] is planned. It will stand approximately two meters [six and a half feet] high, and will be built out of sandcrete blocks. The aim is to prevent animals from getting in and to ensure crop protection. The fence will enclose an area of about seventy acres and will be carried out in stages, based on available resources, until the entire fence [wall] is completed.<br \/>\nThe project is part of the Custody\u2019s commitment to develop self-sustainability through agricultural work. With a local contribution of \u20ac2,333.30, the entire projected cost of the project\u2014\u20ac19,333.30\u2014has now been covered.
