On October 22, 2022, the Provincial Custody of the Immaculate Conception of the B.V.M. in Brazil celebrated the priestly ordination of Friar Jesus RODRIGUES DO AMARAL. The event took place at the Jardim da Imaculada Shrine Church in Cidade Ocidental, Goiás State, Brazil.
Friar Jesus was ordained by the Most Reverend Fernando José MONTEIRO GUIMARÃES, Archbishop Emeritus of Brazil, Military. The ordination was attended by the Provincial Custos, Friar Carlos Roberto de Oliveira CHARLES and the Minister Provincial of the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in Brazil, Friar Gilberto DE JESUS RODRIGUES, as well as confreres, friends and family.
For the slogan of his ordination, Friar Jesus chose the Gospel passage: “It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you” (Jn 15:16).
The previous day, October 21, Friar Fernando PEREIRA DE ANDRADE JUNIOR renewed his simple vows and received the Ministry of Acolyte. The Custos, Friar Carlos Roberto, presided over the Mass, which took place in the Chapel of the Seminary of St. Francis of Assisi in Brasilia, Brazil.
Let us pray for Friars Jesus and Fernando, asking the Holy Spirit to configure them to our Lord Jesus Christ, poor, humble and crucified.
