On Saturday, January 22, 2022, the Provincial Delegation in Chile joyfully celebrated the simple profession of Friar Benjamín Alejandro CASTRO HERRERA.
The celebration took place at the Jesús de Nazaret Church in Curicó, where the formation house of the Delegation is located. Friar Fabio M. MAZZINI, the formator of the Delegation, presided over Mass, while the Provincial Delegate, Friar Tullio PASTORELLI received Friar Benjamín’s vows. Friar Maurizio BRIDIO gave the homily and stressed that a vocation, before being a choice, is a call: it is the Lord who calls.
Others present at the celebration included the friars of the Delegation, some relatives of the newly professed, the faithful from the local parish and some faithful from of the church in Rauco-Curicó, Friar Benjamín’s home community. After the celebration, a fraternal agape meal was served in the church courtyard.
We thank the Lord for Friar Benjamín’s generous “yes” and we pray that this young confrere, this son of the Delegation of Chile, may mature in his following of Jesus, according to the lifestyle of St. Francis of Assisi.
