On October 11-12, 2025, the National Assembly of the Militia of the Immaculata (M.I.) of Colombia was held in Funza, District of Cundinamarca, Columbia. The Assembly was convened by the National Presidency Council of the M.I., under the direction of the National President, Erica J. NARVÁEZ BASTIDAS, with spiritual guidance provided by the National Spiritual Assistant, Friar David TABARES VÉLEZ. OFM Conv.

This fraternal gathering of unity, mission, and hope brought together M.I. delegates from the country’s various nuclei (local centers), found in different regions and parishes across Colombia. The delegates came to discern, share, and plan the path of the M.I. in Colombia, in an atmosphere of prayer, synodal dialogue, and profound love for the Immaculate Virgin Mary.
The main objective of the Assembly was to consolidate the M.I. in the country, to strengthen its identity according to the charism of St. Maximilian Kolbe, and to develop shared activities that would help it respond with greater commitment to the evangelizing challenges of our time.
Amid a climate of communion, mission, and hope, the delegates joyfully celebrated the International Presidential Council’s official recognition of the Militia of the Immaculata in Colombia as a National Center, in accordance with the structure and guidelines set out in the M.I.’s General Statutes.
They also received the Decree of Ratification of the National Directory of the M.I. in Colombia, dated May 21, 2025. Both events strengthened the mission of the M.I. in Colombia and reaffirmed its commitment to live, serve, and evangelize under the mantle of the Immaculata.
The Assembly was a time of fellowship, formation, and listening to one another, illuminated by the fervent desire to make the Militia a living instrument of mission in the Church and the world, especially in parishes, youth, families, and society.
With renewed spirit and trust in the intercession of the Immaculata, the Militia members are ready to continue their journey together, dreaming of a more united, missionary M.I., in full communion with the Church, to win the entire world for Christ through the Immaculata.
