On Saturday February 25, 2023, at 11:45 a.m., a new postulant was welcomed and the ministries of Lector and Acolyte were conferred upon two temporarily professed friars. The event took place during Midday Prayer in the chapel of the St. Francis Friary in Seoul. The friary belongs to the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in South Korea.
The Provincial Minister Friar Marco Jin Chol JEONG, presided over the celebration. The new postulant that was welcomed was Giovanni Mireu PARK. He was born on December 6, 2004, and was baptized at St. Clare’s Church, in the Galsan district of In-cheon, South Korea. Our friars have been working there since 1977.
After John was welcomed, the ministry of Lector was conferred upon Friar Maria Francesco Hwan-seok SEONG and the ministry of Acolyte was conferred upon Friar Gabriel Myong-woo RYU.
Friar Maria Francesco was born December 18, 1994. He made his simple profession on February 10, 2022. Friar Gabriel was born October 28, 1992. He made his simple profession on June 26, 2020.
