On April 25-29, 2022, the Province of St. Bernardine and St. Angelo in Italy (Abruzzo-Molise) conducted a spiritual retreat at its friary in Pescara, Italy. The retreat was shared with the Province of St. Nicholas and St. Angelo in Italy (Puglia).

Both Jurisdictions are preparing to be unified into one Province. Over the last two years, these Provinces have been conducting annual, joint spiritual retreats. The retreats have been divided in two rounds, with the venue for each round alternating from one Province to the other. This year, the first round of the retreat was held March 7-11, 2022, at the Santa Maria del Circito Oasis near Cassano delle Murge, Italy. The second round took place at the guest center next to the Sant’Antonio friary in Pescara.
The retreat was preached by Father Alessandro BARBAN, the Prior General of the Camaldolese Congregation. He explored significant points of the Gospel of Luke in seven meditation sessions. Due to his various other commitments, the retreat was kept relatively short. It began Monday evening, April 25, with a general introduction. Three full days followed and the retreat ended Friday morning, April 29.
Twenty friars participated in the retreat including both Ministers Provincial, Friars Daniele MAIORANO of Puglia and Mauro DE FILIPPIS DELFICO of Abruzzo-Molise. Seven of the participating friars were from various friaries in Puglia.
