From June 8-13 and June 15-20, 2026, the Caritas Center of the Archdiocese of Gdańsk in Warzenko, Poland, hosted two of the four Spiritual Chapter sessions scheduled for the jubilees commemorating the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi and the 40th anniversary of the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in Poland (Gdańsk).
The central theme of the sessions was fraternal life in the context of the pastoral challenges that one faces in today’s world. The sessions were attended by friars from six Delegations of the Province, who gathered for communal prayer, Eucharistic adoration, meditations, and group discussions.
The speakers included Friars Zdzisław KIJAS, OFM Conv.; Marek FIAŁKOWSKI, OFM Conv.; Piotr CUBER, OFM Conv.; Wit CHLONDOWSKI, OFM; the Most Reverend Piotr PRZYBOREK, Auxiliary Bishop of Gdańsk, Poland; and Monika PRZYBYSZ.
The remaining two sessions of the Spiritual Chapters will take place in September and October. The entire Jubilee celebration program will conclude on October 10, during the Province’s feast day in Gdynia, Poland.
