Most of the preliminary work needed to open the St. Francis of Assisi House of Prayer has been completed. The House is located in the former postulancy wing of the friary in Głogówek, which belongs to the Province of St. Anthony and Blessed James of Strepar in Poland (Cracow).
The House of Prayer is intended for those who wish to devote time to silence, personal prayer, and deepening their relationship with God. Its spirituality is rooted in the Franciscan tradition of prayer, silence, and contemplation, with a particular focus on the practice of Lectio Divina.
With the consent of the Minister Provincial, Friar Mariusz KOZIOŁ, friars may spend time at the House to make individual spiritual retreats. The House can also accommodate individuals seeking spiritual renewal, depending on room availability and the services it can offer.
The House is not a retreat center in the traditional sense and does not host group retreats. Instead, it welcomes individuals for stays arranged in advance with the House’s Superiors. Particular attention is given to fostering an atmosphere of contemplation that encourages deeper prayer, reflection, and inner silence.
The House offers guest rooms and other facilities for a comfortable stay. Guests may also enjoy the friary’s outdoor grounds, including a beautiful garden that is especially well suited for walks, meditation, and personal prayer.
The House of Prayer is located in Głogówek, in Poland’s Opole Voivodeship, and is easily accessible by car, train, or bus.
The invitation is extended to friars, priests, consecrated persons, and lay faithful—both men and women—who wish to devote time to personal prayer, bring greater order to their spiritual lives, and deepen their relationship with God. Guests are invited to make a voluntary donation to help cover the cost of their stay.
