On February 28, 2026, the Mystery of the Passion of the Lord was performed at the Shrine of St. Anne in Smardzewice, near Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Poland. The biblical characters were played by the friars, together with local youth and children.

“Practically the whole Conventual Franciscan community took part in the Mystery. It was a courageous decision,” said the Novice Master, Friar Piotr KŁYS with pride and joy at the end of the performance.
Friar Piotr thanked all those who contributed to the production. “I especially thank the parishioners, students, youth, and children―everyone who performed on stage and worked behind the scenes, committing themselves to rehearsals, learning their roles, and working together. Their willingness, enthusiasm, and courage made the Mystery a living testimony of faith and communion,” he emphasized. “May the good accomplished through this performance bear fruit in the hearts of the audience and the artists. May the shared experience of work and prayer strengthen our unity and inspire us to undertake new works for the greater glory of God,” he added.
At the conclusion, the Minister Provincial of the Province of St. Anthony and Bl. James of Strepar in Poland (Cracow), Friar Mariusz KOZIOŁ, imparted his blessing upon all those present. The Conventual Franciscan clerical students and post-novices, together with their formators, also traveled from Cracow and Łódź to attend the event.
