On Monday. June 14, 2021, Friar Marek DUBANIK (61) left for the mission in Paraguay. Earlier, on Saturday, June 12, Friar Marek received the solemn mandate of the Minister Provincial of the Province of St. Anthony and Bl. James of Strepar in Poland (Cracow). The event took place at the Provincial Curia.

The Minister Provincial addressed Friar Marek, saying, “Dear brother, God has chosen you to go and bear fruit. May your fruit endure. Go, therefore, and proclaim the Gospel to every creature following the example of the Apostles and St. Francis of Assisi and his holy friars, who went around the world proclaiming the Gospel and bringing Peace and All Good.” The Minister Provincial thanked Friar Marek for his many years of missionary service in Bolivia.
In turn, the newly-sent missionary told the friars in the chapel that he joyfully accepts this task because he feels in his heart that God is calling him to continue his missionary work in South America.
Friar Marek DUBANIK was born in 1960, in Szprotawa, Poland. He entered the Franciscan Order in 1980; was ordained a priest in 1987; and was sent on a mission to Bolivia in 1989, where he remained for thirty years.
