At 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2022, the entire community of the Seraphicum in Rome gathered for the traditional blessing of the friary’s rooms and common areas.

The blessing of the rooms began on the 6th floor, where the permanent community resides. All of the friars accompanied the Guardian, Friar Adam MĄCZKA, as he blessed one room after another. The room blessing concluded at the main entrance of the Seraphicum.
At 7:15 p.m., the community, along with friars from the General Curia and the Vatican Penitentiary, gathered to pray Evening Prayer in the San Bonaventura Chapel. The Vicar General, Friar Jan MACIEJOWSKi, presided. After invoking the Holy Spirit, the friars took part in the typical Franciscan tradition of extracting the names of saints to serve as protectors for each friar over the course of the coming year. After the extraction of names, the evening continued with a community dinner for the residents and the visiting friars.
We thank the Vicar General for his visit and the things he said and we take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
