During the period of March 2-6, 2020, friars of the Provincial Custody of the Orient and the Holy Land met with Friar Lucian HORLESCU to share in a period of formation together.
Two places were chosen for this event. The friars living in Turkey gathered at the Friary of St. Anthony of Padua in Istanbul. Alternatively, the friars in Lebanon met at the Friary of St. Antoine de Padoue in Sin el Fil – Beirut.
The participants reflected on the theme of obedience in interpersonal relationships. Friar Lucian invited the confreres to take a personal journey to discover their own deeper reality and to work on themselves. During the second part of the formation event, Friar Lucian led the participants in a reflection on the writings of Saint Francis and on Church documents concerning religious life.
As Franciscans we are called to live the Gospel. Jesus Christ himself, in fact, is the fulfillment of the message of salvation, which the Son of God brought to all people in perfect obedience to the Father.
