On April 27, 2025, Divine Mercy Sunday, the Stations of the Cross and the Chapel of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at Kalwaria Pacławska, Poland, were blessed and dedicated for prayer. The celebration was presided over by Friar Mariusz KOZIOŁ, the Minister Provincial of the Province of St. Anthony and Bl. James of Strepar in Poland (Cracow).
Friar Marian GOŁĄB,is the Superior of the Friary, Parish and Shrine-Basilica of the Passion of Christ and Mother of God at Kalwaria Pacławska. He explained that creating a chapel for all-day Eucharistic adoration had long been a desire of the Conventual Franciscans. The implementation of the project was boosted by Pope Francis’ proclamation of the 2025 Jubilee Year and the decision by the Most Reverend Adam SZAL, Archbishop of Przemyśl, Poland, to establish the Shrine-Basilica at Kalwaria Pacławska as a jubilee church.
“According to the will of the Pope,” said Friar Marian, “these jubilee churches are to be oases of spirituality, where one can refresh one’s faith journey and drink from the springs of hope. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is an important part of this place, where people can come to receive God’s grace, where they can pause in prayer, where they can meet with God and have a personal encounter with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. In the end, we decided to create the Adoration Chapel in our St. Anne Chapel, which is located near the main entrance of the church square, between the basilica and the bell tower.”
On the same day, the Stations of the Cross, located in the church square, just behind the Adoration Chapel, were also blessed.
