The well-known book Oddech Słońca (The Breath of the Sun), originally written in Polish by Friar Bogusław DĄBROWSKI, is now available in English. The new English translation was published by a New York publishing house in July of 2025. Friar Bogusław was a missionary in Uganda for many years.
“The proceeds from ‘The Breath of the Sun’ are intended to support the construction of a new Conventual Franciscan mission in Gulu, Uganda,” said the book’s author.
Oddech Słońca is the second book by Friar Bogusław in which he recounts his life at the mission in Kakooge Uganda. He was there for nineteen years. The book is a continuation of his first book, entitled: Spalić paszport (Burn the Passport). However, as the author himself points out, this second book is a more mature attempt, from a literary point of view, to narrate his missionary experiences.
