On Saturday, July 20, 2024, nine novices concluded their novitiate year at the Sacred Convent in Assisi and professed their vows to live in obedience, chastity and without anything of their own. The professions took place during Mass, at the altar of the Lower Basilica of St. Francis, the Caput et Mater Ordinis Minorum [Head and Mother of the Order of Minors] The General Custos of the Sacred Convent, Friar Marco MORONI, presided over the ceremony with Friars Vincenzo ESPOSITO and Stephen Ochieno OCHWADA serving as witnesses.
The novices professed their vows into the hands of their respective Superiors, namely, Friar Miljenko HONTIĆ, the Minister Provincial of the Province of St. Jerome in Croatia; Friar Gilberto DEPEDER, the Vicar Provincial of the Italian Province of St. Anthony of Padua (Northern Italy); Friar Gaspare LA BARBERA, the Minister Provincial of the Italian Province of the Immaculate Conception (Sicily-Calabria); and Friar Francesco LENTI, the Minister Provincial of the Italian Province of St. Francis of Assisi (Central Italy).
The newly professed are Friars Adrijan MARUŠIĆ, Luka TETEC and Jerko ŠUPERBA of the Province of Croatia; Friars Christian Maria BARTOLINI, Giovanni MARTINELLI and Michele RINALDI of the Province of Central Italy; Friars Luca GIACON and Tiago FIGO FREITAS, of the Province of Northern Italy; and Friar Marco MANGANO of the Province of Calabria and Sicily.
