On March 21, 2023, the community of the General Custody of the Sacred Convent of St. Francis in Italy (Assisi) gathered for its monthly retreat.
The theme of the retreat was discernment. The event took place in the Sacred Convent. The retreat included reflection and lectio divina taken from Mk 5:1-20, the healing of the Gerasene demoniac. As part of the Custody’s series of retreats on discernment, the friars of the Custody contemplated the Word and reflected, as a community and personally, about the attitudes that make it difficult to follow the Lord in one’s daily routine.
In the afternoon, the four individual communities of the Custody met in their own friaries to recite Evening Prayer and to discuss the fruits of the personal reflection they had conducted earlier.
