On July 9-12, 2024, the Provincial Custody of St. Bonaventure in Brazil celebrated an Extraordinary Custodial Chapter. The Chapter took place at the Menino Jesus de Praga Friary in São Luís, Maranhão State, Brazil.
Friar Roberto HONORATO OLIVEIRA DOS REMÉDIOS, the Provincial Custos, presided over the Chapter. Others participating included Friar Albino TANUCCI, the Vicar Provincial of the Mother Province, namely, the Italian Province of St. Francis of Assisi (Central Italy); and Friar Rogério PEREIRA XAVIER, the Assistant General for the Federación América Latina Conventuales. All of the solemnly professed friars of the Custody enthusiastically participated in the Chapter, which was conducted in a prayerful and fraternal atmosphere.
The main task of the Chapter was to analyze and vote upon the Custodial Statutes. In the end, the Capitulars approved them. They also studied some relevant civil statutes.
The Chapter concluded with Mass followed by a fraternal lunch.
