On June 28, 2026, a vocation promotion event entitled “Franciscan Tent” took place at the St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish Church in Mogi das Cruzes, Brazil. The friars of the Conventual Franciscan Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in Brazil (Brasilia) serve the parish.

The event focused on the theme, “The Lord Gave Me Brothers,” in keeping with the celebrations marking the 800th anniversary of the Testament of St. Francis of Assisi.
Activities began at 12:00 p.m. with a welcome, followed by lunch. This was followed by an opening prayer and a presentation of the day’s program. In the afternoon, the young people were divided into three formation tents [groups]. The first, “Fraternity,” was led by Friars Gustavo Ionas ROCHA DE MEDEIROS and Flávio Martins VENÂNCIO. The second, “Stigmata,” was led by lay catechists Drico and Vilma. The third, “Church,” was led by the “Juventude Sol de Assis” youth group.
Afterwards, the participants spent time together reading and reflecting on the Testament of St. Francis of Assisi, exploring its content in the light of Franciscan spirituality.
The program continued with a recreational activity called “Pie in the Face,” which was designed to reinforce the topics covered during the formation sessions. After a break, the participants gathered for an evening bonfire (luau) and prayed the Franciscan Crown. The event concluded with the celebration of Mass.
