On Monday, August 14, 2023, the Feast of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe, five friars of the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in Brazil professed their solemn vows and thereby gave themselves wholeheartedly to the Lord in the Order of Friars Minor Conventual.
The newly-professed are Friars Carlos Eduardo GONÇALVES DE OLIVEIRA; Joaquim MENDES DE OLIVEIRA; André Salomão MENDES ALVES; Gederson Aparecido MARQUES NUNES; and Diogo Kennedy LIMA DE ARAÚJO.
We wish them all perseverance in their quest to live the holy Gospel and we thank their families for giving up their sons and for the gift of life. We thank the Triune God for their vocation and for their life of union through the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity and obedience.
Their profession gives the Province cause to rejoice over its fruitful effort in welcoming and caring for these brothers who are called to live the charism in the face of the challenges of this century.
