On April 16-20, 2018, the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in Brazil held a “quinquennium” meeting in Brasilia.

The quinquennium brought together newly ordained and solemnly professed friars from the entire Province along with the Minister Provincial, Friar Marcelo José VERONEZ MARIN, to address some fraternal and formational themes. These formational days featured lectures and study groups alternating with the celebration of Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours.
The central theme of this year’s quinquennium was “For New Wine, New Wineskins”, and led participants to reflect on the challenges of Franciscan ministry in the world today.
The new priests attending the meeting were Friars Mayko Ataliba CRUZ DE ANDRADE; Bernardo Vitório DA SILVA NETO; Herton ALCÂNTARA DOS SANTOS; Henrique DE SOUSA MENDONÇA; Givaldo DOMINGOS DE OLIVEIRA; João Rogério L. CARVALHO FILHO; Israel Fernando DA S. SOBRINHO; Almir RODRIGUES DE SIQUEIRA; Joveci José DE OLIVEIRA FILHO; Thiago COSTA NORONHA; and the newly solemnly professed Friar Francisco FERREIRA SILVA.
