On December 8, 2024, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, a Mass was celebrated to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Seibo Franciscan College (Our Lady).

The Mass took place at the São Maximiliano Kolbe Parish Church in Mogi das Cruzes, São Paulo state, Brazil. The church is entrusted to the Province of St. Francis in Brazil. The Mass was presided over by the Most Reverend Júlio Endi AKAMINE (Society of the Catholic Apostolate), Archbishop of Sorocaba, Sao Paulo, Brazil. Those attending included friars, collaborators, students, family members and other religious.
The friars were also honored to welcome Friar Marcus Keiichi OMIZU, a representative of the Province of the Immaculate Conception of the B.V.M. in Japan, who brought a special message from the Minister Provincial, Friar Lucas Shin-ichiroh TANIZAKI.
2024 was a year filled with celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of Seibo Franciscan College. The college has stayed connected to its Japanese roots since its foundation. It began as a Sunday school in 1974. From there, it developed into a college for all school grades, from kindergarten through high school.
On the day before the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, a festive celebration of the college was held. It included a presentation by students and staff representing the school’s history. It was a time to look back at history, celebrate and thank God for all the work done so far!
