On February 20-21, 2023, the friars of the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in South Korea celebrated their Provincial Assembly. The event took place at the retreat center at the St. Francis Friary in Seoul, South Korea.
Fifty of the sixty-one solemnly professed friars of the Province attended the Assembly, where they devoted themselves to reflecting on the life and activities of the Jurisdiction and other issues.
As usual, the assembly was scheduled for two days. However, the program was modified to accommodate the funeral of Remigio CHOI, the father of Friar Francesco (Wooshik) CHOI. Therefore, on the first day, the friars completed their scheduled discussion and on the second day, they participated in the funeral Mass.
On Monday, February 20, the Provincial Econom, Friar Giuseppe Wonhoi NOH, gave a presentation on the financial status of the Province. Next, the Guardians shared news about their fraternities. The friars then moved on to discuss the Franciscan Centenary and the personal financial activities of the friars.
Finally, the Assembly ended with a fraternal agape meal.
