On Wednesday, October 11, 2023, during the 55th Assembly of the Croatian Conference of Religious (HRK), the Conference elected its new government. The Assembly was held at the Dominican Friary of Blessed Augustine KAŽOTIĆ in Zagreb, Croatia.
Sister Lidija Bernardica MATIJEVIĆ was elected President of the HRK. She is the Mother Provincial of the Province of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of the Franciscan School Sisters of Christ the King, headquartered in Split, Croatia. Friar Miljenko HONTIĆ was elected Vice President. He is the Minister Provincial of the Province of St. Jerome in Croatia.
The other members of the HRK Council were also elected, namely, Sister M. Jelena IKIĆ, the Mother General of the Sisters of Charity of St. Vinko Paulski; Sister Samuela MARKANOVIĆ, the Mother Provincial of the Sisters of Mary of the Miraculous Medal; Friar Milan KRIŠTO, the Minister Provincial of the Friars Minor Province of St. Cyril and Methodius in Croatia; and Father Sebastian ŠUJEVIĆ, SJ, the Provincial of the Jesuit Province of Croatia.
